The important question for educators - WHY!!!

Questions that are often asked about the new technology/media and teaching…
What do you use? How do you use it? And the less often asked but most important question - WHY do you use it?

I followed an interesting discussion on The Missing W. The entry talks about the importance of “how” and in the comments several teachers give examples of “How”. Another useful tool that came out of the discussion is a chart about choosing the right tool for the task from Kim Cofino’s blog.

Each user would need to slightly rewrite the tasks and the tools but the chart is a good start. If you want a larger version of the chart you can download it from Flickr.
